1. Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh




It is nestled in Heart of India, that forms the central Indian highlights. Kanha area was divided into two sanctuaries, Hallon and Banjar, of 250 and 300 km2 respectively. Kanha National Park was created on 1 June 1955 and in 1973 was made the Kanha Tiger Reserve. Today it stretches over an area of 940 square km in the two districts Mandla and Balaghat. This makes it the largest National Park in Central India.

The park has a significant population of tiger, Indian leopards, the sloth bear, barasingha and Indian wild dog. The forest depicted in the famous novel by Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book is thought by some to be based on jungles including this reserve.

5. Kaziranga National Park, Assam




All those who have thought Indian one-horned rhinoceros only existed in Jurassic-era, then a trip to Kaziranga is a must for them. One of the most sought after wildlife holiday destinations in India, Kaziranga National park’s 430 square kilometer area sprinkled with elephant-grass meadows, swampy lagoons, and dense forests is home to more than 2200 Indian one-horned rhinoceros, approximately 2/3rd of their total world population.

In the year 1985, the park was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Along with the iconic Greater one-horned rhinoceros, the park is the breeding ground of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. Over the time, the tiger population has also increased in Kaziranga, and that’s the reason why Kaziranga was declared as Tiger Reserve in 2006. Also, the park is recognized as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International for the conservation of avifaunal species.

Diphlu River Lodge




Diphlu River Lodge has 12 cottages, accommodating up to 24 guests at a time, ensuring an exclusive and serene experience.

Cottages are raised on cement stilts, topped with natural materials like bamboo and wood, and thatched roofs to blend in with the forest surroundings. Out of the 12 cottages, four of them are river-facing and the rest are paddy-facing.

All cottages are nearly the same size and have more or less the same interiors, except for minor stylistic differences. All cottages sleep 2 and are air-conditioned for comfort. All shower bathrooms are en-suite with a roomy dressing area and a fitted wardrobe containing a safe. Special care has been taken to make full use of local materials and artefacts. Each individual cottage has a wide folding glass door opening onto a verandah with inviting cane chairs. We have wi-fi available in the cottages, but do be aware that it may be a bit spotty from time to time. We are, after all, in a jungle!
